 May
& June are prime months for excellent walleye and crappie action in 5-10' of water,
the northerns can also be active. As spring turns to summer the fish can be found in the 12-15' depths. This is when the crappie crib
locations on Upper Red Lake can provide structure to locate fish.
Mort's Dock has a crib
cluster just three-quarters of a mile from our shore. The mid-summer
months can produce some "Wall Hanger" northerns up in the shallows.
As fall sets in
the fishing action begins to pick up, while it usually doesn't compare to early spring they can be found in good numbers.

is a second generation family owned resort and operated business. We want this to
be a retreat based upon the slower-paced activities and leisurely days that you
knew in your childhood; a place where you can get back in touch with yourself,
your family and your friends; and a place and a time you will remember and want
to come back to again and again!
Mort's
Dock is approximately 10 miles
North of Kelliher on MN HWY 72. West on
County Road 23 for 6 miles (South Shore
Drive) near the town of Waskish,
MN and 40 miles South of Baudette,
MN and 60 miles North of Bemidji,
MN. Beltrami County is full of exciting things to see and do. Visit

Here
you can get hooked on some of the best walleye, black crappie, northern and
perch fishing in northern Minnesota.

When
Upper Red Lake starts to freeze over, that's when the fishing at Mort's
Dock really gets exciting.
December
and January the ice is ready and the fishing for walleyes, northern, and the crappie's
is going strong again!
Most of
the winter months the 12-15' foot water - just over a mile off Mort's
Dock access - give up most of the crappie and walleye but both can be found shallower during early and late ice..

There is a wide variety of songbirds and
waterfowl. In addition to, loons, bald eagles, osprey, deer, wolf, bear in the area.
Hunting is great for deer, grouse, bear and waterfowl. People come from far away
to enjoy the exceptional wildlife found in the Upper Red Lake Area.
